Ingredients

For the chocolate fudge sauce

  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 (3.2 ounce) bars dark chocolate (I used Chocolove 70% Extra Dark Chocolate)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the cocktails

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 2 teaspoons (about 1 ounce) chocolate fudge sauce
  • 1 small spoonful (about 1/2 an ounce) salted caramel + extra for topping and rimming the glass
  • 2 ounces heavy cream
  • extra chopped dark chocolate for topping
  • crushed ice
  • gold sprinkles for rimming the glass

Instructions

For the chocolate fudge sauce

  1. Begin by making the chocolate fudge sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, salt, and half of the chocolate. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat slightly and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until chocolate has melted. Remove from heat and add remaining chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Stir to combine and until all chocolate has melted. Set aside to cool completely before making the cocktails.

For the cocktails

  1. To make the cocktails, pour some salted caramel on a small plate and some gold sprinkles on another. Rim the glass in the salted caramel, then rim in the gold sprinkles to adhere. Drizzle some of the chocolate fudge sauce on the inside of the glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Add the vodka, Kahlua, chocolate fudge sauce, salted caramel, and heavy cream. Stir to combine and to get the chocolate sauce and caramel all mixed together in the drink. Top with a small splash of heavy cream, a drizzle of salted caramel, and a sprinkle of chopped dark chocolate. Enjoy!
