IMG_0736This is one of my favorite post-workout snacks, or on-the-go breakfasts.

I have a bunch of variations of green smoothies depending on what fruits and greens I have on hand, but this is my latest concoction.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I have been posting pretty much all healthy dishes lately. I am in the process of creating a “Clean Eating” tab on the blog, where you can go to find healthy recipes. I figure the spring is a good time to get this moving, because most people are trying to get in shape for summer. The food I eat is pretty much healthy all of the time, of course with the occasional splurge. I am very passionate about clean, healthy, and fresh ingredients and I want to share my favorites with you and how I incorporate them into everyday living and meals. Keep checking back, I should have the tab up soon!

Makes 1 large smoothie

1 c. unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 kiwi, peeled and cut into chunks
1/2 of a navel orange, peeled and cut into chunks
1 banana, sliced
1 T. hemp protein powder or your favorite protein powder
1 T. flaxseed meal
handful of kale or spinach
drizzle of honey if extra sweetness is desired
handful of ice

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into a glass or to-go cup and enjoy at home or on the run.
