Welcome to Spices in My DNA! I’m Molly and I’m SO happy you’re here.
This is a space where I share healthy recipes with a sprinkle of indulgence mixed in. Because what’s life without both, right?! I love to focus on the balanced approach to eating as well as the 80/20 lifestyle. I’m wildly passionate about food, and I grew up in a family full of foodies. I was surrounded by phenomenal cooking from an early age, and immediately fell in love with everything about food. It’s all I think about all day, every day. And that’s no exaggeration. Anyone else go to sleep dreaming about what they’re going to have for breakfast? Haha yep, that’s me.
In this corner of the internet, you will find super flavorful, unique, and healthy recipes, as well as indulgent, comforting meals we all know and love.
A little more about me:
There is NOTHING I don’t eat. With the exception of goat cheese. I cannot stand the taste of it. Weird, right?! Pretty sure I’m the only foodie who doesn’t like it.
I’d been known to out-eat my 7 year old brother at the age of two. Yep. You could say it’s in my blood. Food lover since birth.
I grew up eating tons of pasta and more traditional “American” food, but always was up for trying new things. My mom made it a point to serve us food from a variety of different cultures and flavor profiles, and I am so thankful for that. My aunt included too. It’s definitely made me the adventurous eater I am today.
I LOVE to cook seasonally. You’ll definitely see that on this site. Hence this Autumn Loaded Guac. There’s nothing like using the beautiful seasonal produce and being inspired by the flavors of the season. Fall is my absolute fave.
Foods I cannot live without (this was really hard to narrow down, and in no particular order): avocado, eggs, bread, peanut butter, tacos, guacamole, pizza, salad, chips, fries, blueberries, and mac & cheese.
Favorite beverages (in no particular order): Water (I drink A TON), coffee, red wine, margaritas, and kombucha.
