I’m so excited to announce a project I’ve been working on for the past couple months that I’m thrilled to be bringing to you guys: Healthyish January! This concept has been on my mind for awhile now, and I can’t wait to share the recipes with you guys over the course of the month!
The term “healthyish” has been thrown around quite a bit for the past couple of years, and it’s something I’ve always identified with.
In my opinion, it can mean whatever you want it to. For me, it describes the way I eat most of the time, and it embodies an all-inclusive approach to eating and food in general.
I’m extremely passionate about vegetables, seasonal produce-focused cooking, and eating in a way that makes your body feel the best that it can. Most of the time, you’ll find me drinking nutrient-dense smoothies for breakfast, vibrant salads for lunch, and seasonal vegetable filled dinners (With treats sprinkled in there daily, of course). However, I’m also insanely passionate about things like pasta, cheeseboards, and comfort-food recipes that tend to be enjoyed during celebrations, holidays, and any kind of family tradition you may hold. Or you know, whenever you feel like it! I’ve always had a need for both in my life, and I feel my best physically AND mentally when I’m enjoying both.
This, to me, is healthyish. So! This month, I’ll be sharing recipes that fit that concept exactly! During this month of January, you will find me posting mostly wholesome, vegetable focused recipes, but they’ll still contain things like dairy, grains, cheese, and other things that aren’t typically deemed “healthy”.
Get ready for things like an easy sheet pan dinner, veggie-filled pasta, cozy curry, a “healthyish” cocktail, and a game-day appetizer toward the end of the month – plus so much more!
The entire thought behind Healthyish January, is that come January 1, people are set up to fail, with all of the cleanses and diets out there. My approach is that, after two straight months of holidays and treats, it’s much more realistic to focus on fueling yourself with real ingredients, and mostly healthy recipes, where treats still fit. It’s how I aim to live my life, and I find it to be the most sustainable and joy-inducing way to do so. Because eating is supposed to be FUN, and it’s supposed to bring so much happiness into your life.
And it’s that exact concept that I am so passionate about.
I’m SO excited to bring you on this healthyish journey with me this month and to share all of the recipes with you!
