This Strawberry Honey Basil Fizz Mocktail is a wonderful, refreshing, non-alcoholic drink to enjoy this spring and summer. It’s naturally sweetened with honey simple syrup and muddled strawberries! Filled with fresh basil, lime juice, and a touch of plain sparkling water for a little carbonation, it screams perfect patio drink! This recipe makes one mocktail, but is very easily multiplied to make for a crowd!

Patio season is upon us and this strawberry honey basil mocktail is a lovely way to celebrate that! I am someone that loves a good cocktail/glass of wine/hazy IPA every once in a while, but I don’t enjoy drinking alcohol on a regular basis because the older I get, the worse it makes me feel, as I’m sure many of you can relate 🙂 This mocktail is the perfect solution – tastes every bit as fun and refreshing as a cocktail might, without the hangover the next day.

This strawberry basil mocktail would be perfect to make for any upcoming events or baby showers!

I actually developed this recipe specifically for my best friend’s baby shower, and it was such a hit, I knew I had to share it with all of you. It’s the perfect balance of sweet (but not too sweet), herbaceous, tart, refreshing, and beautiful to boot!

I love that this recipe is sweetened with just honey, and you naturally get some of those lovely floral notes in the drink. Paired with the juicy strawberries and fresh basil, it’s really delicious!

Even though this cocktail yields one drink, it’s really easily multiplied and made pitcher-style, if you’re serving it at a party or get-together. It’s also very forgiving, so depending on your taste, you can always add more/less lime, more simple syrup, more strawberries, less basil, etc. It’s one of those concoctions that you really can’t mess up!

Here’s a quick rundown of exactly how to make this strawberry basil mocktail:

  • Make the honey simple syrup. Combine equal parts honey and water in a saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Stir, and once honey has dissolved, remove from heat and cool completely.
  • Prep the remaining ingredients. Slice/chop your strawberries, wash your basil, and squeeze your limes (slice extra for garnish!).
  • Assemble. Muddle your strawberries and basil in a glass until juicy and fragrant. Next, add crushed ice to fill the glass. Then, add the lime juice and simple syrup. Top with crushed ice, and finish with sparkling water. Stir. Garnish with a slice of lime or strawberry and a basil leaf, and enjoy!

It’s really that simple. Any extra simple syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to one month, so you can have a strawberry honey basil fizz whenever you’re in the mood!
