Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers
I’m not sure what’s better than boozy fruit that’s been sitting in a mixture of red wine, brandy, and sugar water. Who else loves the fruit part of sangria?! Dare I say I enjoy it more than the sangria itself…

Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers

These skewers are the BEST for summer entertaining. First of all, they’re SO fun and EASY. All you have to do is soak a bunch of fruit in sangria and then skewer it up! Can you say Friday happy hour?

Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers

Now you can absolutely drink the sangria part too! It’s perfectly delicious and a super simple version of a red sangria. I love it! Definitely don’t throw it out..I don’t think I had to tell you that, but you never know.

Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers

How cute and pretty are these? I used mini skewers which worked out perfectly but you can use the big skewers too! These were eaten in a matter of minutes in my house. They are so perfectly boozy and sweet.

Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers

I used a medley of summery fruit, plus apples because you gotta have apples in sangria. Cherries (yay! finallllly in season!), blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and peaches. Plus, a little freshly squeezed orange juice and sliced lime! And just a touch of simple syrup for extra sweetness.

You can switch this up and add raspberries, mango, or whatever fruit you like! I ended up adding lemon slices to the actual sangria too.

Sangria Soaked Fruit Skewers

What is your favorite type of sangria? Mine has to be classic red, but I do LOVE this rosé version I created last summer.

I seriously cannot wait to entertain with these this summer. The other plus is that they travel super well. If you bring these to a party, get ready to be superrrr popular.

Friday are you here yet?

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 4-5 strawberries, cut into thick slices
  • 1 apple, diced into 1'' chunks (I used a honeycrisp but fuji would work great too!)
  • 1 peach, diced into 1'' chunks
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • a few lemon slices (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups red wine (I used a dry Spanish red)
  • juice of 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup peach brandy

Instructions

  1. Add water and sugar to a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir for 30 seconds or so until dissolved. Remove from heat. Set aside to cool.

  2. To a medium mixing bowl, add the red wine, orange juice, peach brandy, and cooled simple syrup. Stir to combine. Add the cherries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apple, peach, lime, and lemon slices if using. Stir to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours but up to 4.

  3. Once ready, skewer the fruit onto skewers and enjoy! Serve with the sangria if desired!

Hi I read this makes 4 servings. How much extra would I need to make for a party of ~30 people 😬

Hi Lexi! If you toggle your cursor over the servings, there will be a bar that shows up that allows you to slide the servings up to the number you’re looking for, and the ingredient amounts will re-populate. The highest it goes is 20, but I think that would be plenty – the 4 servings I listed initially is generous. Let me know if you have any other questions and if you try them out! 🙂
