I have quite the obsession with margaritas, if you haven’t noticed. Especially flavored ones. They are so much fun to play around with and make even more delicious than your classic margarita. I absolutely LOVE these and how festive they are. Festive drinks around the holidays totally make me the happiest girl.
I love adding other types of citrus to margaritas, in addition to the lime juice. This recipe from last year being one of my favorites EVER. Oh my goodness you guys, SO good.
These are right up there with my winter citrus version. I made a rosemary cinnamon simple syrup to go in these which has the most subtle spiced and earthy flavor. You definitely won’t pick up a ton of rosemary and cinnamon flavor, but it adds that extra dimension of flavor and makes them more “holiday-esque”.
These drinks are made even more festive with the cinnamon salty sugar rim! I love the mixture of margarita salt and sugar, and the extra touch of warm cinnamon flavor is so delish.
And the clementine juice! Oh my goodness. I forget how much I love clementines until this time of year where boxes and boxes of them are stocked at the grocery store. I grew up eating them all the time and I love how strong and citrusy they are. The BEST orange flavor.
To make the clementine juice, I peeled them, put them in the blender, and puréed them. Then, I strained the juice through a fine mesh strainer, so I ended up with this perfect, pulp-free clementine juice that tastes incredible in these margaritas. I kind of just want to drink it straight, too. It’s SO GOOD. And it tastes even better mixed with the tart pomegranate juice.
For garnishes, I added pomegranate arils because I’m slightly obsessed with them, a cinnamon stick, and a rosemary sprig. I can’t even stand how festive and beautiful they are.
These would be perfect to make for Thanksgiving, and you could even make them pitcher style. Just multiply the recipe as many times you need, and throw all the garnishes in the pitcher!

- For the rosemary cinnamon SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 rosemary sprigs
- For the cinnamon SALTY SUGAR:
- 2 tablespoons coarse margarita salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- For the CLEMENTINE JUICE:
- 4 clementines, peeled
- For the MARGARITAS:
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce clementine juice
- ½ unce pomegranate juice
- 1 ounce rosemary cinnamon simple syrup
- 1 ounce tequila
- ½ ounce Grand Mariner
- lime slices for garnish
- pomegranate arils for garnish
- cinnamon sticks for garnish
- rosemary sprigs for garnish
- Begin by making the simple syrup. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary. Bring to a boil, stir until sugar has dissolved, and remove from heat. Set aside to cool completely.
- Make the cinnamon salty sugar. Combine margarita salt, sugar, and cinnamon on a plate and stir until combined. Set aside.
- Make the clementine juice. Add peeled clementines to a blender and blend until completely smooth. Pour juice into a cup or bowl through a fine mesh strainer and discard the pulp.
- Moisten the edge of your margarita glass with lime and rim in the cinnamon salty sugar. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
- To make the margarita, add ice to a cocktail shaker. Add the lime juice, clementine juice, pomegranate juice, rosemary cinnamon simple syrup, tequila, and Grand Marnier. Shake for 20-30 seconds and pour into the glass. Top with a lime slice, pomegranate arils, a cinnamon stick, and a rosemary sprig. Enjoy!
