Healthy fries! I am a HUGE sucker for french fries..I think I’ve mentioned this before. They are my biggest weakness next to chips. For me, nothing will ever beat hot, thin crispy fries right out of the fryer..but these baked sweet potato fries are pretty darn good. The sweet ketchup paired with all the spicy flavors on the fries is amazing. You have to make them!

Cooking these on the wire rack helps to keep them not soggy. How pretty?! If you don’t have baking racks, cooking them in a single layer on a baking sheet will work just fine.

Serves 2-4

3 medium sweet potato fries, peeled, cut into 1/2-3/4” sticks
1 and 1/2 T. olive oil
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

For the ketchup:
3/4 c. your favorite ketchup
3 T. pure maple syrup
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. clove
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika
pinch of salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 400℉. Spray a baking rack with cooking spray, and place on a baking sheet. If you are just cooking them on the baking sheet, skip this step.

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, cinnamon, cayenne, cumin, salt, and pepper. Place sweet potato fries in a large bowl and pour oil/spice mixture over them and toss until coated. Arrange fries on rack or baking sheet, spaced apart as best as you can. Bake for 20 minutes, flip them, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden.

While the fries are baking, make the ketchup. Combine ketchup, maple syrup, allspice, clove, smoked paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl and stir to combine. Serve with the fries!
